Neoantigen?based vaccines as a promising strategy in cancer immunotherapeutics

چکیده
The development of cancer vaccines is based on the premise that tumor cells are potentially targetable by host immunity through effective presentation tumor-associated antigens to reactive T-cell populations. Vaccine efficacy may be limited functional properties effector including lack high-affinity T target self-antigens. In contrast, neoantigens arise from tumor-specific mutational events generate epitopes seen as foreign immunity. As such, neoantigen-targeted vaccination provides a high level specificity, promotes greater function, and minimizes off-target toxicities. Next-generation sequencing high-throughput computational algorithms have allowed for identification in solid hematologic malignancies. generation involves screening potential HLA restriction reactivity repertoire. Early phase studies demonstrated feasibility vaccine production resultant potent immunologic responses. clinical impact neoantigen its incorporation into combinatorial immunotherapeutic strategies currently being explored.

A new study found that receipt of the live measles, mumps, and rubella (MMr) vaccine on schedule after vaccination for other common infections is associated with a lower rate of hospital admissions for any kind of infections, but particularly for lower respiratory tract infections. Besides protecting children against targeted diseases, childhood vaccines have also been shown to have non-specifi...

While a PhD candidate, doing my thesis at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Biology Division under Dr. Charles Congdon, my introduction to the immune response was studying graft vs. host (GVH) disease as a consequence of bone marrow transplantation in mice. The sequalae of GVH was impressive, and demonstrated the potential of negative clinical consequences of the immune system. The idea of har...

Concomitant with the increased prevalence of immunocompromised persons, invasive fungal infections have become considerably more frequent in the last 50 years. High mortality rates caused by invasive mycoses and high morbidity because of intractable mucosal infections have created an unmet need for innovative prophylactic and therapeutic strategies against fungal pathogens. Several immunotherap...
